Want to Revamp Your Home Decor? Here are Five Simple Ways

This post may contain affiliate links

Do you often feel uninspired by your current home decor? That’s been known to happen as times change and your taste changes with it. The good news is that with a few tips and tricks, your home decor can make a complete 360.

Recently we got tired of the decor in our dining room, kitchen, and bathroom so we did give them a makeover. Click below to see them.

It’s easy to brush this off when you think of the cost of hiring an interior decorator these days. But the great thing about these tips is the fact that most of them cost zilch. Even more, once you use any of these methods, your living space will look like it got a major facelift. So, don’t be deterred by how accessible this is, some times things aren’t too good to true.

Rearrange Your Living Space

Yes, you can easily switch up your home decor, even if you live a frugal life. In fact, one of the easiest and least stressful ways to revamp your living space is a simple rearrangement. You’ll be surprised at how different your home will look if you just move some furniture around. If you really want to take it up a notch, you can equally switch up the lamps, or move some of the hanging shelves from one point to another. The great thing about this is that you can do it as often as you want without spending a dime.

Use Thrift Stores

Bringing in a new piece of furniture or knick-knack is all you need to change up your space. However, getting new stuff can be pretty expensive, which is why thrift stores are a great route to take. Look out for larger thrift stores as they deal in furniture and you may find a gem or two to elevate your home with. Even more, some stores sell reasonably priced pieces, such as the amazing bargains the Oliver Bonas deals offers online.

Create a Masterpiece on Your Wall

One of the most visible aspects of any living space is the walls. So, loading them up with some fantastic designs is a great way to revamp your home decor. If you have great wallpaper ideas, you can go all out and slap on a new wallpaper; alternatively, you can simply hang a painting up to subtly draw attention. However, keep it in mind that the wall(s) you work on will become a focal point, so be strategic in your placement and go easy on the rest of the decor. This is one of those cases where less is more because you really don’t want anything to clash.

Swap Out Your Throw Pillows and Rugs

Throw pillows are excellent accents to any room, and they provide a whole lot of life and color. This is why swapping them out from time to time can completely change the way a room looks.

It is really easy to make your own pillows. Just google no-sew pillows and you find an amazing array of ideas.

To that end, feel free to experiment with different colors and shapes just to see what works for you. In addition, updating your rug also makes a huge difference, even just changing its location is enough to give your living space a facelift. Needless to say, ensure that you get a color or pattern that complements the rest of your decor as this makes for a more coherent space.

Paint or Use Wallpaper

Painting your walls is a tried and tested way to make a change in your living space, and since a bucket of paint doesn’t cost much, it is equally very affordable. There are a slew of resources online if you’re unsure of how to get the ball rolling. Also, you could opt for wallpapers if the painting is too stressful, while it’s a more expensive option, it can be managed if used strategically. Even better is the fact that wallpapers have more designs and patterns, so you have more options with them.

You simply cannot throw everything away and start from an empty home. Instead, you can transform one room at a time and let the minimalist spirit spread through your home gradually.

In many households, a fuse blows and is replaced only to be followed by the fuse blowing again. This becomes a repetitive cycle with a member of the household seeming satisfied to keep changing the fuse without questioning the reason for this occurring.

Keeping a folder or mood board on your phone or computer also helps if you want to refer to a certain color scheme, piece of furniture, rug, or artwork so you can match it when you’re shopping online.
