All You Need to Know About Budget vs Premium Tyres

This post may contain affiliate links

When it comes to car repairs, every car owner understands the dilemma of choosing between the cheapest, adequate tyres or the very best premium brand tyres that can be found on the market. I know that Leisa and I definitely used to have a problem with this.

Which factor should win in the battle between price and quality? Let us take a look.

Premium Buy

Buying the very best tyres on the market is always going to be the best choice for your car. Premium tyres are engineered to offer a smoother ride, less noise, and to last a very long time, so once you have made that purchase, you will get to enjoy those tyres for a long time. Much longer than the cheaper variety, that is.

Premium tyres are also a good bet if you are going to be driving a lot over the next few years – they are designed to be long-wearing, and so will last much longer than budget equivalents, especially if the roads you will be using are hard on tyres.

You want to give yourself all the confidence to navigate the road as a car driver. Anything that will make you a nervous driver will need to be set right.

Budget Options

Sometimes, though, buying cheaper tyres can be a reasonable choice. If you are going to sell the vehicle soon and just need to keep it on the road for a month or two, then buying cheaper quality tyres can be a sensible decision to take, especially as most second-hand car owners plan to replace the tyres fairly soon, just for their own peace of mind.

Be smart and stay within your budget by choosing tyres that are more affordable for the short amount of time you will need them.

Is Buying Cheap Actually Economical Though?

However, in almost all other cases, it tends to work out more economical to invest in a good set of tyres for your long-term use vehicle. Budget tyres tend to be made from lower quality rubber and wear out much faster than premium alternatives, which means that you will have to replace them exponentially sooner than you might expect or hope. Premium tyres can easily last five years, remaining in excellent condition the entire time, so you have fewer worries about punctures, blow-outs and slow leaks.

While, of course, this means that your driving experience is better, having a reliable car can have a knock-on effect in other areas of your life, making you a more attentive partner, more productive worker and more engaged parent. Now, that’s not bad, just for a set of tyres! Looking for new tyres to replace your old ones? I like that Basingstoke has some great options just waiting for you., visit Headley Tyres, Basingstoke branch or simply shop online. There is a great variety available at great prices!
