All the Details you Never Really get to see on Shop Smart Save Money

All the details you never get to see on Shop Smart Save Money

This will include bits we are calling Director’s cut. The show is only one hour long for each episode.

You’d probably not know that we filmed for hours to get all the content for each episode. So here, we will share some of what was cut. This includes photos, recipes, candid shots etc.

Outtakes on Shop Smart Save Money

It is serious work, trying to share tips with the viewers on how they could be a little smarter when shopping. Even so, we do have some really great laughs.

Sometimes while filming, we stumble over some little words that make us feel awkward and the best way we deal with it, is a bout of the giggles. Even when we are really tired after a long shoot with just a few minutes to go, that’s when the giggles will start.

We always reminisce about one particular day when we were filming in Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull. It was nearly the end of the school day and we were desperate to get out of there.

This is because we had seen a few of our past students milling around and trying to say hi. This was lovely of course, but it was also slowing our progress.

However, try as we might, we just couldn’t get through this particular line due to the giggles. And surely, the past students, (a few of them, did catch us there).

I so wish at the end of each episode of Shop Smart Save Money, they would show some of the rib-tickling, funny moments.

The shopping tips on Shop Smart Save Money

Depending on which shop, supermarket or market that we go to, we always manage to find a bargain and use up a few of these 50 shopping tips for savvy shoppers. For example, it’s always handy to have a look at the other shelves, not just those at eye level.

Sometimes it is a little bit harder to find good deals too. For example, during series 3 when we went to Stevenage market, there was only one butcher and one fishmonger. So basically, the price they set, was what we had to pay, except when we haggled or used our charm (wink wink).
