Content is our Word of the Week

This post may contain affiliate links

This word content is our word of the week for a number of reasons. We are generally content with life and the way things are at the moment. We are also mindful that we have failed to keep up with content creation for a few weeks now. At the moment life is definitely ‘lifing’, as they say on Tik Tok and also social media platforms.

Last week neither of us remembered or bothered to write a word of the week post. We love doing it and also look forward to reading about how others sum up their week. We take turns each week to do the post and last week it was Leisa’s turn. I thought she had done it but when I came to read it, I found that there was none! To be fair though, she has been taken up with creating the content for our YouTube channel as I am at work in the days. I am grateful that we get to share tasks like this.

Work is getting better and better each week and I am enjoying it. I feel so content on the weekends that I don’t have to think about work or do anything at all related to my job. It’s so different from when I was teaching. Most of my Saturday nights and all day Sundays used to be taken up with thinking about work, doing work like reports or marking, and even dreading going back to work on a Monday morning. Even when I stopped working on a Monday in order to go part time, my Mondays used to be just an extension of Sundays and still working. Now, once I leave the office on a Friday, I have nothing at all to do about work again until Monday morning.

Word of the Week linky

We are happy with our little neighbourhood and cul de sac too. Two Fridays ago one of the neighbours organized a BBQ and it was so nice to see the adults sitting around and chatting while the kids played nicely together. We are having one again next Friday and I hope more people turn out. We are well aware that some neighbours have issues with each other and so didn’t turn up. We get along with everyone if it’s even just to say a pleasant howdy do. Next time we are responsible for getting corn on the cob and icelols. The last time we had chicken skewers, corn on the cob, chicken wings, and drumsticks. We also had some fizzy pop, cake and sweets for the kids.

I don’t know about you but we are content with the weather. Today (Sunday) it was a little on the hot side and we were sweating while we planted out some petunias and fixed up some other beds. The tulips have all gone away now until next year so we have cut the tops off to give the nutrients to the bulbs so they’ll be fit and strong and multiply for next year. Last time our word of the week was exhale and it spoke about our peonies too. Well, they’ve finally burst forth and we have been cutting some to use as cut flowers indoors. Here we added some wild flowers too.We have lots of sunflowers kept in the conservatory but we are so worried about the slugs and snails! There are a lot this year, especially after a shower of rain.

Roast beef and rice Sunday dinner.

I haven’t been on Instagram in a while and Twitter is even worse. I don’t even know if I could still navigate Twitter now as it’s been so long since I went on. We need help, lol.

Oh, in the back end of the blog, I see we can now use AI to do some stuff! Shut up! And also, what’s this thing about putting in a date in the meta description box? If you do know, please help a girl out. I recently updated Genesis or something so that might be where that’s come from. Oh boy!

We hope the week has been kind to you too and if not, there’s always the next week to look forward to.

Content is a good word in both senses. I’m glad you managed to do a WOTW. I’m so happy the job is going well and the peonies are looking lovely as is your Sunday dinner. As for the little box, I just ignore the date and write after the prompt. It’s worked so far!

It sounds like you have been so busy, especially with the content creation.
I am glad work is getting better and better and it’s good that you get a break over the weekend.
It sounds lovely getting together with your neighbours and it sounds like your garden is doing well. Ahh! So I am not the only one noticing all the slugs. hehehe
Every time I go on Twitter I see that something has changed. I’ve not quite given up on it though. x

It’s nice that you and Leisa share the content creation tasks and I’m glad you’re both generally feeling content with life at the moment too. It’s nice to be able to leave work behind on Friday evening and enjoy the weekend. How lovely to have a BBQ with your neighbours. Your peonies are so pretty. I love peony season. #WotW
