Exhale is our Word of the Week

This post may contain affiliate links

There have been so many times this week that I have had to remind myself to just exhale. Both for good and bad reasons I have found myself just pent up and wanting a release. Do you sometimes have that happen to you? We should really just trust the process and exhale when we need to. Taking in a deep breath and holding it forever is a killer, so just breathe.

On Friday night last week, the men who were working on the kitchen finally finished and gave us back our space. Although things were a right mess as things were, dirty, dusty, all over and needing a good clean, we were glad to have them out of there so we could just exhale and be! There’s nothing more annoying like having people in your space when you want them out! While they were here we noticed that the downstairs toilet seat was always left up, and sometimes even the tap was left running! We could scream every time!

Anyway, on Sunday morning we decided to start the big clean. This included the living room, conservatory, dining room and kitchen. It took us all day and we hardly even sat down until evening time. But at last, we could exhale. We are mostly pleased with everything and so grateful that we waited and got the best quote and from workmen we had used in the past. They had done the kitchen about 10 years ago and also the bathroom upstairs 6 or so years ago. If you would like to see the big kitchen and dining room revealed, click the YouTube link below.

Do tell us what you think about it. Do you like the colours and the design?  If you do watch the video, please do us a favour and put your comment under the the video on Youtube. That really helps the channel, thanks. We were glad that we could reuse the same stove, fridge, microwave and other appliances. They are all still in good working order. Even the open shelves were decorated with things we already had, except for the little basket that my niece paid £2 for in a charity shop. Frugal huh?  It was all worth the long wait and inconvenience so now we can exhale.

The apartment we were working on is now fully complete and we have before and after photos and videos to come in the next Youtube video. We think the space is cool and suitable for a single 21-year-old!  Yes, it’s Leisa’s daughter that she took home since she was 7 years old. She turned 21 this week! The video will explain it all so we can finally exhale after keeping that secret for over a month now!

Work is going well and I finally feel like I am getting a good grasp of most things and I am finally able to exhale. I’m trying my hardest to work on my speed. I can’t help but notice that everyone else types like they were born with a keyboard in both hands! I have to remind myself that I hadn’t seen a keyboard until I went to college! And I’ve left teaching years ago now so my speed needs improving. One good thing though, that I am so pleased about is the fact that I have stopped biting my nails. For now, that is. Work was about to make some stressful changes that we would all need to adjust to, so I told myself ‘I will not bite my nails’, which is always what happens when I am stressed. It worked! I can see them growing and getting stronger so I am quite pleased about that.

I hope things have been good in your neck of the woods and that you have your fair share of sunshine and blue skies soon.

Our peonies are getting so fat, they are almost ready to exhale too!

Oh yes! I sometimes have to remind myself to breath especially when I am stressed about something.
It sounds like you were glad to see the workmen leave. I feel the same when I have someone in the house doing work. They really mess with your day.
I love your kitchen, the design and the colours. That’s good you could reuse the stove, fridge and everything else. The apartment is gorgeous too!
I am glad work is going well. It sounds like you are doing great and it will take time to get up to speed. x

I’m so glad you are able to breathe easy now the work is done. The kitchen looks amazing, I love the marble with the green, it goes together so well. The apartment is very lovely too. What a lucky girl. x

So glad the kitchen is now complete and you can exhale and enjoy having that new space! That’s great that Leisa’s daughter’s apartment is all done too. Well done on stopping biting your nails and good luck with improving your typing speed. #WotW
