How to Make Your Life Beautiful With Typography

This post may contain affiliate links

Seeing fancy writing really gives me the feel good. According to Wikipedia, This is called typography. and you can make your life beautiful with typography.

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable and appealing when displayed. The arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point sizes, line lengths, line-spacing (leading), and letter-spacing (tracking), and adjusting the space between pairs of letters.

In other words, fancy writing and fonts are pleasant to the eyes and can draw friends, family, and customers to you and what you do. And this is something to capitalize on. Whatever you do, you must always try to do it well.

So today, I am sharing some ways you can use fonts and typography to spice up your life and give you the feel-good factor too. The best thing is that you can do this on a budget so it doesn’t cost too much.

Website design

When I first thought about getting my own website, and even before I thought about how I wanted it to work, and what would be clickable, and so on, I thought about the look.

I had pleasant dreams about the look, in terms of how the fonts would look, how they would be laid out, and the flounces and flair of each. I imagined people wanting to come back to my website just to check out the look, never mind the content.

It is true that the font on a website can be a turnoff, and I’ve seen a few. The font can sometimes be hard to read and this can just be a frustration for the readers so do be careful with that.

Here is Thrifty Mum’s website and I like right away that you can see how she uses those two fonts that say ‘Thrifty Mum’ to make her stamp.

I think her use of those two fonts is quite clever and memorable.

Pinterest pin images

I love creating Pinterest images for my blog. You can invite visitors to your website not only by the messages on your pins (the image you make to promote the post), but also by how attractive the pin is.

You can do this easily by using the best fancy fonts

There is a wide range to choose from and the best thing to do, to maintain consistency, is to choose two or three fonts and stick with them for all your pins. This way, as soon as someone sees your pins, they know right away, it’s you. It represents your brand.

Here are 2 of my Pinterest pins where I use the same two fonts so it is usually recognizable, no matter the image I use. It’s the font that does the job.

Crafting

This is where I am most comfortable. Being able to craft items that others love, and that helps with my mental health, to me is amazing. I like that almost all my makes allow me to play with all types of fancy fonts that will give the recipients the feel good feel too.

Here are some examples of my craft makes with different fonts.

A plaque that says we survived lockdown together.

A wooden sign that says welcome

Pump bottles that have been decorated for use in the bathroom.

Glass birthday plaque made for a girl during lockdown. It says Chantal

What do you like about these? If you had to choose one thing! For me, it’s the typography. The use of fonts and how they are laid out, make these bold and have such a comfy feel about them.

Youtube Channel

The uniformity on someone’s Youtube channel can be promoted and maintained by the use of a consistent set of fonts. My favourites on YouTube because of their use of font and colour are Jennifer Maker and The Humble Penny.

Even though the fonts chosen are quite simple, they make a statement and, along with the colours chosen, it makes it easy to recognize whose channel it is.

Business signs

Have you noticed that you can quickly identify certain brands by the fonts they use? If I tell you Coco-Cola, I’m sure you can think of the font that is used right away! How about Disney and Virgin! If you can remember their sign right away without even seeing it, it means you have come, over the years, to recognise them because of the fonts used.

This is what the correct and consistent use of fonts can do for you. It makes your life beautiful.

Party Invitations

Gone are the days when you scribbled something on paper and slipped it into someone’s hand as a party invite! Oh no! You can make your own fancy invitations using your chosen fonts to create the atmosphere you are after for the party. Whether the celebration is for a child’s birthday, a graduation party, or even wedding invitations, you can do it. All you really need, is paper, a printer, and some fancy fonts.

And there you go, your life beautiful with typography.

I hope I have convinced you that you too can make your life beautiful by choosing the fonts that will spice up your life and business. If you like this and want to remember where you can get affordable fonts to use, please click on the image below to share to Pinterest.
