The last time we wrote a word of the week post, our word was break I suppose it was because we had taken a break. This week, we are back. Shall I give you the back story? There isn’t much, really. Life has been lifing, and we have been getting used to new work schedules (and loving it(, but also we are enjoying the longer days and more sunlight.
Truthfully, we needed the break and enjoyed it too, but now we are back. Talking about back, have you ever just suddenly come down with a backache for no apparent reason? We are dealing with that too. And I also suspect that my plantar fasciitis is flaring up again. I should be grateful it is not as bad as last year. I attribute the backache to maybe getting overexcited and taking on too much in the garden. We need to hold back a little.
How did you like the England Lionesses and their amazing comeback in the UEFA matches? They were amazing and deserved every win. We were especially pleased with Michelle Agymang who saved their skin twice and kept them in the competition. We screamed in excitement so much during the final match on Sunday that we both temporarily lost our voices!
This week a work colleague was reminding me that I do have a money-saving blog (this one) and it reminded me that I do need to get back to sharing some more money-saving tips. Here’s one she shared this week: never prebook an Uber ride unless you really have to, and can afford the extra money they will add just for the convenience of knowing you have a ride booked. I proved it for myself too. On the Uber app it was coming up at about £24.99 for a ride home from work if I chose to prebook. I decided to book just at the end of the workday and paid only £11.99 on the same Uber app.
This week, our mom went back to Jamaica, and we just wish we could go too. It’s been nice catching up with her and the relatives we have back there. I imagine the lazy, hazy days sitting out on the verandah or under a shady tree. Our turn will come up next year, hopefully.
Whose garden is flourishing? Ours is, especially in the back where we have made a big change by placing all varieties of potted plants along one whole side. The colours are amazing. Yes, we still fight with the slugs and snails, but all things considered, there’s just a nice feeling to be able to sit out and enjoy our handiwork at the end of the day. We spend at least 30 minutes each morning watering, pruning and admiring the garden. Planting in pots has given us the flexibility to keep changing things around according to our mood.

On YouTube, we are also back this week with another video that shows in more detail how our week went and we also have a giveaway for UK residents only. Two lucky people will receive something special and there’s also a discount code to receive your discount on Dossier fragrances. I’d love it if one of you guys, our readers, won. Do check the video for more details.
We have missed checking out the other linked blog posts each week over on Anne’s Blog, but we promise to now that we are back. We do have a week’s break coming up and will be doing some traveling (not too far), so we will be sharing that too. I am very excited about the break coming up.
Well, we hope you’ve had a good week and thanks so much for stopping by our little blog. Thanks for the kind social media messages some of you sent while we were missing from the blogosphere.

It’s great to see you back, ladies! I’ve missed reading your posts.
Your garden is looking fabulous, so colourful. It looks like you’ve both been working really hard on it, so I’m not surprised you have backache.
Well done on saving money on the Uber ride; it just goes to show that there is always a way to get something cheaper.
Have a lovely weekend.
It’s lovely to see you back ladies, I have missed you. I did the same as you and potted plants in my garden. I’ve put them close enough so that I can look after them myself and they have been rewarding me with much colour through my window. How lovely having your mum visit. No so good hearing about your back and sciatica though. The England team were marvellous, I didn’t miss a match (despite the final being on my Boo’s birthday!) I think I saw most of it though and wasn’t screaming but biting my nails at the end. I’ve started commenting on Monday’s now to give everyone time to catch up but I couldn’t resist a welcome back comment on your blog.

That’s really nice of you. We appreciate it. Any comment on the video?
Welcome back ladies!! It sounds like you really needed the break but it is a shame you have backache and the plantar fasciitis is flaring up again. I hope you feel better soon.
The football was really good, they are an amazing team and yes, Michelle Agymang was fantastic!!
I will have to tell my eldest about the Uber tip! I never use them but she does quite a bit and pre-book.
How lovely to have your mom visiting.
It sounds like your garden is doing really well, I feel like I am in a never ending battle with weeds!
Have a fab break away and great weekend. x

Thanks for the welcome!
Your garden haul is so good. Well done!! Ah I am glad you had a good break with your mom, its tough when family are so far.
HA! I never prebook ubers because we often use them at random times but how cheeky is that!
It’s good to see you back both. Backache and plantar fasciitis are no fun. Your garden looks lovely though.
The garden pots look lovely. Hope your mum had a safe trip home. #wotw

Welcome back! Hope your backache is getting better along with the plantar fasciitis. That’s a good tip about not prebooking Ubers – we tend to only book when we need them but it’s good to know that it’s better to keep doing so! Glad your garden is thriving – mine is too but needs some taming again! Lovely that you’ve had some time with your mom and have a break to look forward to as well. #WotW
