GDPR Privacy Policy
As owners and authors of this blog, we, Jo and Leisa, do take your privacy seriously and want to make sure that we are compliant with any rules and regulations (including GDPR) relating to how we use and store your data.
The main reason we collect your data on this frugal lifestyle blog is so that we can share any deals you may be interested in. These are deals that will help you to make and save money. Your data will never ever be shared with any third parties. We will continue to store your data (should you subscribe) until you unsubscribe (using the UNSUBSCRIBE BUTTON at the bottom of the newsletter) or tell us that you no longer want to hear from us.
We do ensure that we get your clear consent before collecting any data. Our email provider uses a double opt-in system which gives you the option of signing on and then further confirming that you want to hear from us via our newsletter sent out at least once per month.
Your data will be deleted from our site once you inform us that you no longer want it to be stored. In the case of commenting on a blog post, for example, it is not mandatory for you to leave your correct details (such as name, email, website URL) if you do not want to. If you do, they will be stored on our site but will not be used to target you for mailing list purposes.
We will let you, our users know if data breaches occur as soon as we are made aware of it. We want you to rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to ensure that there is nothing to worry about in continuing to read, leave comments and subscribe to Joleisa.com
Please note that other third-party sites such as Google (for analytics purposes) may access general information about you (eg geographical location, sex, and age) and our site uses cookies. Regarding Google Analytics, we are making a big step towards compliance by setting how long we store your data to 14 months as of May 25, 2018. Please read here to see your rights in this case.
We hope you have found this brief policy useful. Please note that we are not lawyers and have not taken any legal advice outside of reading and acting on the guidelines that are generally found on the Internet. We can assure you that the folk at WordPress (the blogging platform we use) are also working to ensure that the platform is GDPR compliant.
