A large percentage of plus size women in the Uk find it difficult to find clothes that fit well, are flattering, attractive, and comfortable. And why should they? There are several retailers that claim to sell fashion for the plus sized woman.
Well, as plus-sized women ourselves, we are on a quest to check out some of them and see whether we would agree that they are suitable.
Here’s what happened when we tried Simply Be and some of their fashion.
This is Jo’s first choice of outfit from Simply Be after having a look through the items on their website.
The top is made of a silky soft fabric in three different prints, including black and white polka dots!
This is something that I would usually avoid as a full busted woman. However, I have been seeing this sort of style quite a lot nowadays so I thought, why not give it a try.
The colours are quite vibrant and suitable for Spring/Summer. Just what I needed to brighten my mood too as we look forward to more sunshine.
And skinny jeans! I have never intentionally purchased skinny jeans before! Even though I have skinny legs, I would usually opt for a more baggy look to disguise them. This time, I thought, what the heck, skinny or not, they are mine and they carry me around quite well.
My new ankle boots (wide width) are so comfy, and the thickness of the heel is just right. The colour is a dusty grey and the boots are easy to wipe clean.
Having done lessons in garment construction before, I decided to check out the sewing in terms of how neatly the seams and darts, etc were made up. To be honest, I couldn’t find a single fault. Top rate construction techniques with the darts just where they are needed to flatter the figure.

The colours are simply gorgeous and suitable for the season. Seriously, the trousers look better than they do in this photo. I would describe it as a wet look, aubergine, skinny fit jeans.
The whole outfit goes well together and the pieces are breathable and comfortable. Check out the sleeves which are doubled and flouncy. Fancy! The darts also make the top fit well without being restrictive.
