Honestly, guys, contemplating everything this week leaves us feeling blessed.
We have come to almost the end of the year and we are grateful to God for giving us life, keeping us alive and providing all our needs. We are humbled and grateful. We have tried to share with others as we think that is our mission. Sure we could have done more, but we have certainly gone further than many others have – in giving we mean.
Our little YouTube channel is growing and we are grateful. We are not paid every month, but what we have been paid so far this, we have given away. We do feel blessed. In the latter part of this year too, we decided to revamp our Blog and to post even more and thankfully we have begun to see improvement. We feel blessed.
Our children/young people are moving on with their lives, they are pleasant and cause us no great bother. We are aware many parents of teenagers/young people can’t say that. We feel blessed.
On the day this post is being aired, it is our birthday. Birthdays have never really caused us to splurge a lot, ever! This year I was thinking I should perhaps buy myself something ‘biggish’ for my birthday. Jo then remembered that she had a Kindle bought before 2011 but hardly ever used. I thought I could buy myself one too and get back into reading. Well, then Jo’s would not charge up and I was unsure if I should get one. The cost ranged from just under £90 to over £200 with all the necessary things.
I do love reading and wanted to re ‘kindle’ my relationship but I was so unsure. I decided to ask my daughter’s opinion – she had recently bought one on Vinted for £20. She suggested I try to get one there. Then she remembered she had downloaded an app called Libby. On there, Birmingham City Library has over 25,000 books available to read! Bingo! That’s me sorted! And frugal too! She hooked me up on my iPad and hooked up Jo too and it did not cost us a penny. That in itself was a blessing.
We have tried to think of all the things we will need and want for a few weeks of ‘locked in’. We’ve bought them this week and have no plans of leaving out especially if it gets extra cold. We live in a semi-circular cul de sac and parking is scarce at times and will be over the festive season. What we’ve done is park the car in a prime spot and have no plans of moving it until the new year when things begin to get back to normal. If we use it, we might not be able to find space to put it on our street so taxis will be the new norm if and when we have to leave home. Lol. We are blessed.
So over the next two to two and a half weeks we hope to cut down on work, both housework and paid work, and get cozy and relax with a good read. We are going to cook full meals on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. That is a certainty. For the other days, we will see how we get on. A snack might become more of the norm or more like we will cook if we feel up to it! The ‘kids’ are able cooks so whatever they feel like having they can make. In that respect, we do feel blessed. We are going to chill.
We do wish you all the blessings for the festive season and encourage you to share your blessings.
Thanks for reading and thanks also to Anne for allowing us to share how we sum up our week in Word of the Week.
Ps We made a 2-minute video to send greetings to you for the festive season. Press the red play button and it should play.

Blessed is a lovely word for this time of year. It’s good to stop and remind ourselves of things to be grateful for. Libby is a great app for borrowing books. Happy birthday to you both and hope you have a lovely day and a lovely Christmas too. It sounds like you have nice plans to cosy up inside and relax. #WotW

Happy Belated Birthday Ladies. I wish I’d read this yesterday now, I feel rude for not wishing you Happy Birthday especially after you being so kind to me. (I didn’t really go online yesterday!)
Thank you for joining in my linky, thank you for being so kind and generous, thank you for your kind offers of help and thank you for such a lovely little video which really made me smile….and I finally got to see the Bull Ring Christmas tree! I usually go into St Martins Church at Christmas to light candles for my loved ones and I’ve missed it this year.
I hope you have a Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year, much love to you lovely ladies. xx

Belated Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas! You ladies are a blessing yourselves with all the good that you do. I don’t blame you for not moving the car! I have a drive but we have no intention of going anywhere for the next few days. Have a wonderful Christmas
