How to make a musical-ly

This post may contain affiliate links

This is a guest post by a young thirteen-year-old. Yes, you have to try to keep up with the times! She is sharing with us about one of the newest crazes among young people on social media. It’s something that makes them happy. Have you ever heard about musical.ly?

How to make a musical.ly

Well, first of all, let me tell you what a musical.ly is. It is your version of a song that you do hand gestures and lip sync to. You play the song and while it is playing you are recording yourself doing the lip sync, hand gestures and other poses too. You then upload it to share with others. A lot of celebrities also have accounts on musical.ly

Double click or pin to read later. How to make a musical.ly It's the latest craze among teens in the music scene. You are going to want to make your own musical-ly

Before even thinking about making a musical.ly you need the app. It’s available in the App Store and Play Store for free. Once you have downloaded it, you need to make an account.

When you are in, and ready to make a musical.ly, click the yellow plus button in the bottom middle of the screen. Then three options will come up, click the pick music option.

There are different categories of music you can pick, some people do comedy but most people do popular or lip-sync classic. Pick whichever category you would like to do and chose a song. Before you pick it, click the picture and it will play the song.

Here's how to get in with the kids and make a music.ly. Google it and you will see just how much fun they are having.

Once you have chosen, click the song. It will take you to how you make the musical (that’s what musical.lys are called). Hold the phone or tablet at arm’s length, point the camera at you and hold down the red button to record. There are 5 options you can choose from: epic- the music goes really fast, slow- the music goes fast, norm- normal, fast- the music is slower so if it’s a fast song you can get all your hand gestures in and there is lapse- which is really slow. Most people use fast ( I personally use fast as well).

When making a musical you use hand gestures to do with the song. For example; if the song has the lyrics ‘you and me’ you would point as if someone was in front of you, then to yourself. But that’s not all! You have to move the camera too. If you point up move the camera up, if you point down move the camera down and so forth.

If you make a mistake stop recording by taking your finger off the red button and click the back arrow in the top left-hand corner. Click reshoot then just record again. Keep recording until the song stops.

From here you can watch the musical, add a caption, add filters and upload it! If you don’t want to upload it yet- you can click save private, this means that when you go to your account only you can see it and post it whenever you want.

Once the musical is posted you can delete it if you want or leave it up for all your followers to see.

Most people are starting to use musical.ly nowadays and it is getting more and more popular! You get an amazing feeling when someone follows you (becomes a fan) or gives you a BFF(best fan forever) for the first time. I got that feeling when a famous teenager gave me a BFF! She has a crown( which means you’re verified on musical.ly) and she has a YouTube channel too.

On musical.ly you can do duets with others, tag friends and do many more things but that’s all for another blog post.

You can check out her blog at creativejulieann.wordpress.com. She is a new blogger that was inspired by us but hasn’t posted yet but blog posts are sure to come.

You can also find her on musical.ly at julieann123.
