Spring in to Spring

Whoop Whoop Whoop!

Winter is giving way to Spring! I am so happy! I am one of millions of people who suffer with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). The dark colours, mostly black boots, wet landscape, constant cold, ugh! That really gets to me and I absolutely hate it!

So imagine me doing my happy dance now that it is beginning to get warmer (even if only by one degree). I can see daffodils peeping out (almost time for me to go gather some from that field near me), birds chirping as they are back from their winter flights and of course people are taking the risk of wearing lighter colours and some even venturing to eat out!

Get yourself ready! Spring has sprung! There are a number of things we all need to do to get ourselves ready to face this most refreshing of times. So join me as we embark on this adventure together.

First of all, let’s think about how we have been for the past couple of months: dark drab clothes, perhaps hat and scarf most days and of course feet in boots. We’ve been in a shroud! And now we need to emerge. It will certainly make us feel better, and if we feel better then we are more likely to be more productive.

This body (and yours too) need to get into shape. The gym can be quite beneficial, so go ahead,  but if you are not the gym type then you might prefer to go walking. Set your time and stick to it. If the most suitable time for your walk is after work, when it is dark, then be sure to wear safety gear so you have no regrets. IQualTech have these wearable LED lights that does what it says on the tin (illuminates in the dark) and  minimises the possibility of other road/park users not being able to see you.

So let’s get our face done. Sunshine rejuvenates and refreshes but we lose out on that if we spend the winter in cold climes. In this attempt to get ready for Spring, why not start with a makeover from Wowcher. This is a good deal and you can go at your own time. It does not last for ever however, so be sure to catch it within time. But trust me on this one, you will feel refreshed. Why not book a photo session so you can treasure the memories of your refreshed look for later? I know Groupon sometimes have great deals on photo sessions.

Get those boots and socks off and give your feet a good soak. I know we all love to be pampered and having a pedicure is amazing. However instead of forever paying someone to do it for you time and again, why not invite your friends round for a pamper party. Get some drinks and nibbles and soak then scrub each others feet to some soothing music. This amazing foot spa with various settings and warm water can more than work a treat. It soothes and massages the feet.

Get up, dress up and show up!

Spring colours are alive and vibrant and just a little less bold than summer colours. So we can take inspiration for clothing for Spring from the colours in nature at Spring time. There are a  number of items that you can get from a number of stores that give you exactly what you are looking for for Spring. I’ve decided not to buy any new clothes this year but I don’t know about you! These stores carefully selected include: Amazon, Everything5Pounds, Forever21 and Sports Direct. These are not expensive and you can mix and match what you like from each of the stores. If you want to do like me and not buy any new clothes, fish out your coloureds from last year and mix and match to your heart’s content.

I’ve put together a number of items from each of the stores but of course if they are not your style, feel free to choose alternative by clicking on the name of each store.

Here’s what I like:

This beautiful dress with Spring flowers being a central part of the design.

These strappy boot slippers are just sexy whilst giving you the comfort of boots.

To complete the look, you may choose to accessorize with this classy Yoshi handbag, Adidas shades and this beautiful Spring fragrance.

Just thinking of these bring a smile to my face. Time to lose the drab look and feel and get energised and refreshed to spring in to Spring.
