I was on the train travelling to my next filming location. You know what it’s like, long rolling fields, a few stops in between, smelly sweaty bodies, train conductor, phones ringing, loud conversations, babies crying…..the lot! I really wanted to drown out all those sights and sounds out of my head so I did something I often did when I was younger.
When I was a little girl, if ever I was in any stressful situation, I would Close my eyes and dream, (not really dream, but daydream) of something I’d rather be doing or somewhere I’d rather be. So that was what I decided to do whilst on the train. So I closed my eyes and decided. I would imagine some unusual jobs I could have. Don’t lose interest, read on. Some of these are absolutely ace!
Undertaker as a career prospect
Whoa!!! This gave me a little chuckle, and as I’m writing this now I’m hoping that I was not laughing out loud and being the disruptive passenger I hate having to put up with. Imagine me, all dressed every day in black and white, purposeful, straight-faced and at the same time compassionate and concerned. I heard the cost of funerals is getting quite expensive so I don’t know how I’d discuss the exorbitant price and be compassionate at the same time so, undertaker…..ditched! (6 feet under).
Match Maker anyone?
This one certainly sounds interesting and inviting! But seriously, I think I could do a decent job of being a matchmaker! Using my knowledge of psychology, and free dating sites UK I’d carefully read into the information the clients send about themselves and I’d also want to meet up with them after meeting with one or two of their close friends. That is because most times people are a little hard on themselves. I wonder what it’s like to do this as a real job. I must really look into it, as I understand, matchmaking is big business these days. Have you had a look at WeLoveDates.com?
Garbage Collector
What a rubbish idea! The very thought of especially the stench makes me want to gag! I’m not trashing the menial jobs that even more women are doing these days. I honestly think I should pay homage to them as not many people would want to do it. Well, there must be some positives to being a garbage collector:
- If you love travelling, this is the job for you
- Overtime pay is always a bonus and the hours are always plentiful
- There are a few people making lots of money now from turning your rubbish into furniture or expensive pieces of art
- Keeping physically fit is a must here, don’t you think?
- YouTuber
I do have a YouTube channel but I do think I could do so much better with it. I could do it more often for one, and that would help me to be a bit more comfortable with being in front of the camera more often. Being on TV with Shop Smart Save Money has helped in this regard, but then again, it’s someone else’s responsibility to make sure that things look perfect. Taking on the job of a YouTuber would mean that all of this responsibility would be mine. But, with a fortune to be made in sponsorship, ads and collaborations, I think it is a perfect work from home job.Personal Shopper
Before I moved to the U.K. if anyone told me that some people paid to have someone else do their shopping for them I would have said ‘Shut the front door’! But it’s true! And as I understand it, it has been done for quite a few years now! I would absolutely love that job! Personally, I don’t like shopping for myself. But I’d be willing to do it for myself if I were to be paid! That would be no bother at all. I guess only celebrities or rich people pay to have their shopping done so I could get a decent cut! I wonder how I’d get into doing something like that?‘Next stop, Wakefield Westgate.’ My stop! That was good while it lasted. Just like that, a horrible train journey was finished. I didn’t feel too stressed and I have a number of career options to think about in case this tv career comes to nothing! For now, though, I’m sticking to what I know.
Can you add to my list? What unusual career options would you consider adding to my list? Cheerio xxx
