Useful Money Saving Tips for Tyre Care

This post may contain affiliate links

Driving on the busy roads of Birmingham can be a big challenge. In the early morning around 7:30 am to 9:00 am, Birmingham witnesses the craziest traffic jams and you really don’t want to be left stranded on the road. Therefore, taking your car out and commuting to your workplace every day can be very tiring and costly, if you skip your car care.

Fuel consumption can often appear as a bigger expense because without fuel you can’t make your vehicle move an inch. However, your tyres can be a big problem too! If you want to know how you can save money on your car tyres (buying or caring for them), continue reading.

1)     Part worn tyres are a big no for tyre care!

You may think that getting part worn tyres for your car will be really light on your pocket but that’s not always true.  This is because they’ll wear out soon leaving you again with the need to purchase new tyres. Think of it as this way, when they weren’t good enough for another vehicle why would they be good enough for you?

Part worn tyres also lack in the same thread depth that can be found in a brand new pair which will eventually affect the tyres’ grip on road. It is therefore advisable to buy a new pair of budget tyres and save money!

2)     Do Your Research on tyre care

Before purchasing a new pair of tyres, do some proper research. Invest time in finding outlets that offer budget tyres and also compare prices. Choose the ones that suit your budget but also do not compromise on the quality.

3) Buy tyres from a place you can trust

Brands work very hard to earn their customer’s trust. You should always choose a brand or garage with good repute in your local area. This will help you through the whole process from buying it online and getting it fitted. One such highly popular place for buying tyres in Birmingham is Point S, There are several branches so look for one that is close to you.

Another great tip for you is that can search your true tyre match just by searching through REG number! How cool is that!

4)     Branded Tyres- Are they even worth it?

Can you believe it? Tyres are responsible for 20% of our fuel consumption. This is because of the “rolling resistance” that occurs between the tyre and the road. The material of our tyres plays a great role in reducing this resistance.

Therefore, it is always better to opt for branded tyres. To name a few go for Michelin, Goodyear or Continental tyres. You can get these tyres at a competitive price and eventually will be saving money as these tyres will take a lot of time till they actually wear out.

However, if you do not want to go for branded tyres, at least pick tyres that have a tread depth of 1.6mm so that your safety on road is ensured.

Nice tips Joleisa. It’s true quality tires maximize the value of the car more than any part. Second hand tires is a no-no for me coz I don’t know why the owner is disposing them. It’s better to go for quality at whatever cost.

I noticed that my car’s tires are already misaligned which affects its performance on the road. Therefore, I’ve been thinking of looking for a tire repair shop that will be able to address this concern. I’m glad you shared this though, when it’s finally time to replace my tires, I’ll keep in mind to choose a brand that has a good reputation.
