You love Christmas. I love it too. Wait, maybe we are twins! No, I’m already a twin, lol.
Anyway, it goes without saying that Christmas is the best time of the year! I don’t look forward to anything else as much as I look forward to Christmas. If you are not careful, you could spend a fortune trying to create the ambiance of the season. But, the thing is, I know that based on my experience, you don’t need a whole lot of money to make your house look and feel festive.
Today I will share with you a few easy and very cheap ideas to help with decorating your space for the holiday. Some of these will include items you can purchase at the Pound/Dollar Store. All of these are ideas I have used myself using inspiration from Festive Lights. You should check them out for some really cool DIY ideas, some using simple things found around your home.
What about creating awesome Christmas family memories by involving the kids too? They will always remember and cherish these memories well into their adult years.
Mini Candy Canes
Well, I find candy canes to be not only delicious but they lend their Christmassy colours to the season, allowing you to make fancy looking, but cheap decorations. I bought two packs for only £1.25 and just experimented with ideas for decorating the kitchen. I also bought a red candle for £1.00. I am sure you could come up with some ideas of your own too!
Here are some of the ideas I came up with.
Baubel Wreath
I had a go with using some spare baubles and a wire coat hanger to create what I consider to be a stunning wreath if I should say so myself! What do you think?
A little Fanciness for the Staircase
I found this pretty pack of bows for just £1.00 So of course I took them home with me. Paired them up with some holly looking tinsel decorations and stuck them to the side of the staircase. I’m thinking to pair it up with some gold tinsel to jazz it up a bit and match the red and gold theme in the rest of the house this season.
So what do you think of my efforts this year? I love decorating for Christmas and I love doing it as cheaply as possible. The fun of doing it with other family members leave lasting memories for a long time.
All the best for your efforts and do share some of the ideas with us.

You can also glue the candy canes together in a circle like you have under the candle and make a candy cane wreath! Such cool ideas, I will be bringing them to the ladies circle at church this week!

These are cute ideas! I don’t decorate for Christmas (or any season, really) much, but I like the idea of using candy canes for decorating—they’re inexpensive and edible, so they won’t sit in a box for the rest of year, collecting dust. XD

These idea are pretty cool. I remember once when my family didn’t have enough money for a tree. We picked up some tree branches and tied them to a broom stick, stuck into a stool. Fun times!

These are great inexpensive but eye-catching ideas. One thing I usually do is collect pine cones during the Summer/Autumn months and save them for Winter. Leave them brown or spray paint silver or gold and fill a bowl, mix and match with candles, holly or ribbons for wreaths, centre pieces etc etc
Joleisa says
Great ideas! I’ll add that idea for next year. All the very best of the season to you and yours and thanks so much for stopping by.
