Easter Break Activities – Nature Visits

This post may contain affiliate links

So we are almost at the end of the first week of our two week Easter break. We have had a fun filled but hectic week so far. So today is Friday and we decided to wind down a bit. After a well-deserved lie in, we had a lazy breakfast……a mixture of stuff. I’m glad that everyone is now of the age where they can make whatever they want for breakfast, so we all did. I do love this late breakfast idea because it means that we get to miss a whole meal – frugal right? Right!

After breakfast, some of us went back to bed, not to sleep but just to laze around. By late afternoon we had a light meal, again everyone helping themselves to whatever they fancied and then we drove to a scenic park. It is a beautiful part of our neighbourhood. There is a play area for children, a wide expanse of a lake with ducks and other wildlife and really beautiful flowers.

We had a jolly good time walking around the lake, watching the wildlife and the kids enjoyed an icy treat from one of the roving ice cream sellers, once we had finished the walk. The walk gave us an opportunity as well to take some lovely wildlife and nature photos as well.

It was a good leisurely walk and I’m sure our hearts were glad for the exercise. After a few times in the play area, we were ready to return home. Most of us retired to our rooms. Some used their gadgets or watched TV while the others updated their blogs.

Apart from 2 icy treats bought, no money was spent today. Isn’t that a nice way to start the weekend?

It’s relaxing to wind down and enjoy the simple things in life—-taking the time to truly appreciate nature and wildlife. Having an enjoyable time doesn’t require spending lots of money!
