Entertainment is our Word of the Week

This post may contain affiliate links

Who doesn’t like entertainment? No one. Well, this week, we got and gave a fair share of entertainment and we feel saturated. To kick off the week, on Sunday we decided to prepare our Sunday dinner while going live on Youtube at the same time. It was fun, somehow relaxing, and most definitely entertaining. It has, so far over 200 views and you can also see the live chat that we had with our subscribers who were watching while we cooked. We also show a picture of what we are having for Sunday dinner on our Community tab on Youtube every Sunday.

So if you are interested you can have a look on Sundays to see what we had. The photo is usually up by 3 pm the latest.

On Monday we were mostly home apart from venturing out to Lloyds Bank to do some business on the High Street. I suppose the only entertainment that day was watching people go by. Our little High Street has really changed and I always wonder how so many people are out and not working, lol. Oh, later in the evening we did watch some of our favourite Youtubers, mostly in Jamaica but some in the US too. Our recent fix on YouTube for entertainment is watching people decorate for Fall. Boy! Some people go all out! Do you change up your decor for Fall?

It was not entertaining watching our Mira shower being replaced. We hadn’t had hot water in the shower for about 3 days but thank God it’s fixed now. We had got the original electric shower from Mira in exchange for doing some promotions for them. It cost us over £200 to replace it but we love it as it goes well with our current decor. We don’t like the look of the white plastic-looking showers at all. Luckily we were able to find the exact electric shower in a slightly lighter colour than our original one.

Tuesday we started to watch The Great British Bakeoff and it was great to see Allison Hammond on. I think she did a great job and fit in really well. We also liked the diversity of this season’s cohort. It should make things even more entertaining.

When Bake Off finished and before we could get to switch back to Youtube, we realized that Matt Hancock was waiting to give us some more entertainment. in SAS  Who Dares Wins. I think these people are really brave and I don’t blame anyone for breaking down in tears under those circumstances. We got to watch just over 30 minutes of it before we were falling asleep though.

On Wednesday morning we went by my son’s apartment to accept delivery of his new mattress from Argos (the one delivered last week was way too firm). It was interesting to watch one man take it up the stairs all by himself. Then the two of us struggled to get it from the doorway, remove the plastic, and put it on the bed. That fly on the wall got his fair share of entertainment too, lol. For our viewing pleasure in the evening we watched Shade Shannon, a UK YouTuber, as she set up her kitchen after her new dishwasher was installed. There is entertainment in looking at the lives of real people. We also heard on Wednesday that the writers’ guild strikes happening in the USA had ended. So people can go back to their usual nighttime entertainment talk shows on TV.

Nothing much happened on Thursday except that we watched this Mennonite Youtuber who we always look out for on a Thursday. She was sharing what she got up to for a whole week and also how much she spent during the week. I like it when people who are ‘loaded’ are still frugal in certain aspects of their lives. She still buys second-hand clothes and toys for her kids even though she can well afford not to. I like that.

Well, as I’m writing this now, it’s Friday morning and all I’ve got planned is some video editing and other computer work. I’ve already done some meal planning and prep for the days ahead. Later it should be an early evening listening to some of my favourite gospel music. These days City Alight are providing the perfect Friday night entertainment for us.

PS This feature image is of our mom when we visited her in Florida this Summer. She added a fair bit of entertainment to us this week by sending us messages at ungodly hours that Survivor and Big Brother are back on TV. For some reason, she thinks the things on TV in the US are the same that we see here in the UK. Bless her.

We hope you had a good week and thanks so much to Anne for allowing us to take part in the #WordofTheWeek linkup.

Being live on YourTube sure does sound it adds some fun to making your Sunday dinner.
I love how all the people in America go all out to decorate for Autumn but I don’t really bother although I did buy a knitted pumpkin decoration yesterday.
That’s good news about the shower and I am loving Bake Off being on TV again.
You have had a lot of entertainment this week. I love the photo of your mum. She sounds like such a character. x

Going live on YouTube for making your Sunday dinner sounds like fun. Glad your shower got fixed and your son has a new mattress. Lovely photo of your mum. It made me smile that she thinks you have the same things on TV that she does. #WotW
