Yup. That’s our word of the week that we are happy to share.
It seems that it’s all systems go and that is the main reason we have chosen that word. With the easing of restrictions then it seems like it is go go go to one of our favourite things to do which is travel. Like most, we have not been able to see our nearest and dearest relatives in a long time. So yes, this week seems like we have the green light to at least start some travel plans. We have begun to look at dates and cost so watch this space. And yes, we will still be very careful because the pandemic has not quite come to an end yet. So there is that. So much more to look forward to after the restrictions ease. Anyway, no more of the down feeling we had last week.
I have loved the rust and browns exhibited in nature during Autumn but to be perfectly honest, I have not liked the mushiness that everything became in Winter. You know already that Winter is our least favourite season. Well! Thank goodness, I am now seeing some green! I love it! There is hope after all. Just a few more weeks to endure and hopefully, there will be much more green soon in nature. Bring it on I say.
After Autumn, we decorated for the Christmas period which was really cheerful, and so at the start of January when all those decorations were taken down, the house looked really drab. Well this week, I spiced it up a bit again by introducing some green in the form of plants and also surprisingly, a coat! Yes, a coat. My daughter has a nice green furry coat which I think makes an awesome throw. I have not seen her wearing it, so I asked if she could allow me to use it as a throw. She gave her permission but advised that I not cut it as she might decide to wear it in the future. So I have it on the sofa and I think it is a good imposter of a throw. What do you think?
Yesterday I made some passion fruit and orange cheesecakes. They looked nice but in my eyes, they were lacking something for decoration. It was lacking something green. What could I use? What could I use? Mint! Yes, mint is green. But I had none in my fridge. I decided to go look in the back garden to see if anything had endured the cold and guys, I could not believe my eyes. There was nice fresh mint still growing! Of course, I picked some, rinsed it well, and used it to decorate the cheesecakes which turned out so great.
Oh, some of the cheesecakes were shaped like hearts, using these affordable moulds we bought. We will use them over and over for so many other projects. We can’t show those photos just yet, but stay tuned. I love using Amazon Prime to get any of thousands of products by next day FREE delivery. We pay under £8 for this service and we think it’s worth it as we use it a lot since we rely on mostly delivery for our groceries and other items.
Green also describes my ‘green with envy’ feeling as I watched some YouTubers getting back out into the garden to prepare it for the next season. Now, most of these people live in parts of the States where they have really nice weather all year round so getting out in the garden now is nothing strange. But I also watched Katherine from Dainty Dress Diaries, who lives in Ireland. She was out in her garden cleaning up and clearing out! The end result looked good and that’s why I was green with envy but I can’t see myself outside doing anything in the garden for at least two more months. Yes, that is how much I do not like the cold. Poor thing, Katherine had a very pink/red nose by the end of it!
Once in a while, we do get serious about having more healthy options. And now is that once in a while. We have started to have green juice every morning before we have anything else and it replaces breakfast. So far, we have had it every morning this week and it is working a treat. It is made using green apples, ginger, celery, cucumber, and lime or lemon. We juice it in our juicer which is on its last leg and just glugg it down. It is not very tasty but it has lots of health benefits.
We have the green light I think to go buy a juicer as we are planning to have the green juice for at least another three months. So we are off.
Have a good week and as always thanks to Ann who allow us in her linky to share the snippets of our week with you lovelies.

oh yes, it’s way too cold for gardening just yet, but it’s so nice to be thinking of travelling again. I love the green coat/throw. We have something similar on our settee but it’s one of those wearable blankets. It gets too hot to wear it but it looks great as a throw and I pop it over my knees if I get draughty.

You’s must be so excited to travel and see your nearest and dearest. Happy planning.
We have had some very sunshiny days this past week and it’s given me hope that warmer days are coming. I went out without my big coat today and just a hoodie, it felt like a real treat.
The coat/throw looks great on your sofa! x

I really hope you get to travel soon to see your friends and family. That green coat looks amazing and so fluffy. I bet it would be fun to wear out somewhere. Well done on the juice drinking I don’t think that is something I would be good at #WotW

Oh how lovely to finally be able to start making some travel plans. I love that green coat being used as a throw – what a gorgeous shade of green it is. Lovely to find some mint in your garden to decorate your cheesecakes – they look delicious. Glad the green juice is working well for you too. #WotW
