Jobs That Are In Higher Demand As A Result Of The Pandemic

This post may contain affiliate links

By now, you’ve probably read hundreds of stories about people losing their jobs as a result of the pandemic, with many others worrying about losing their own jobs in the near future. This, of course, is a very real concern, with COVD-19 leaving many industries on the brink of collapse.

However, it is important to remain positive during these difficult times. As a result, here are 5 jobs that are in higher demand as a result of the pandemic. If you’re qualified, why not send in an application today?

Healthcare Jobs

As the pandemic puts extra strain on our healthcare system, it is no surprise that there are now more jobs available within this field, in order to help cope with the dramatic increase in workload that healthcare workers are currently facing. In particular, there are many critical care medical job openings, for skilled and experienced physicians with experience taking care of those who need help the most.

However, the industry needs more than just physicians, it relies on all different kinds of staff, including:

  • Nurses
  • Social workers
  • Paramedics
  • Carers
  • Therapists/psychologists
  • Cleaners
  • Administration staff
  • Pharmacists

Social Media Jobs

Social media jobs continue to grow in popularity each year, likely due to the fact that we spend so much time on our phones. However, with the pandemic meaning that many shops and companies have to close their doors, online sales have never been more important. A strong social media presence is a great way for companies to boost sales and ensure they keep up to date with their customers during this time. As a result, there has been an increased demand for those who work within the world of social media. This includes:

  • Copywriters
  • Content curators
  • Content Creators
  • Editors
  • Photographers
  • Videographers
  • Graphic Designers

Bloggers

When you start writing a blog, you might not immediately consider it a way in which you can earn money. However, you’d be surprised about the various ways in which you can make and save money by running a blog. In fact, many blogs have seen a huge increase in traffic over 2020, as people have more time to source, read, and share content they enjoy with others.

Retail Workers

The past year has also seen a rise in the demand for those who work within the retail, especially in relation to grocery stores. As a result, you may notice there have been more callouts for cashiers and managers in this field. Even better, the demand is likely to grow as we move into winter and they search for staff to help them meet the increase in sales that occur during the run-up to Christmas.

Delivery Workers

Whether the pandemic has given you the freedom to indulge in an online shopping addiction, or you are avoiding visiting shopping centers, the pandemic has also led to an increased demand for delivery drivers and couriers across a range of fields – from food delivery to Amazon parcel delivery. There has also been an increased demand for postal workers.

Have you got any other ideas for us? We would love to hear your ideas of what’s in demand in terms of jobs.
