Progress- That’s Our Word of the Week

This post may contain affiliate links

Bearing in mind all that happened so far this week, I think an apt word to describe the week is Progress. There are some bits that we can’t share the whole details of yet but on the whole we can, so here goes.

We started Sunday on an adrenaline high from the Saturday before. We belong to a department at church called Personal Ministries, and we have been tasked this year with making improvements to church life in every sense. So we met together and together dreamt up our ideal church. We then made plans to include the entire membership. After much prayer, we delivered the plan to the church and it was well received. Phew! The whole day was such a blessing, and to top things off, we had the first social event at church in many years. It was so good. That was real progress as even before covid hit, we had not had a social event for a long time.

The kitchen plans are going ahead, and I will leave it at that! Watch this space! Oh, and yes we are getting the colour that we want too!

Our young people are making progress too. The Educational Psychologist is awaiting news of being accepted to pursue his Doctorate! The law graduate who does not want to become a lawyer, but who has worked in various fields, accepted a job working in HR and she started this week. The one who was on her way to becoming a paramedic gave up on that dream and was stuck for a while with what to do next. Well, she too is on a fast-track course/apprenticeship to work in a supporting role in hospitals. She will test to see if she likes that environment and will be able to progress in any field there. We give thanks to God for this progress.

We have made some progress too, small, some may say insignificant but progress anyway. We have decided on several things regarding personal progress. We need to familiarise ourselves again with a gym and in the immediate, we are hoping to start daily walks when the weather is a little more favourable. We are pleased that Spring bulbs are starting to show, so we are hopeful to feel warmer weather soon.

Since COVID hit and there was lockdown, we enjoyed ‘attending’ church services from home. We were dressed casually, ‘attended’ late and so on. Some of that continued even after the lockdown and the church doors reopened. We were just so used to being home, it was hard to leave. Well, this week we have decided that we need to attend on time. That there is progress!

You might remember that we told you about a job offer from November?! Well, there is progress on that too. The job with the council will start at the beginning of this month! Looking forward to that.

Nearly at the end of the week, we were able to visit some charity shops ( a kinda pastime of ours). Now admittedly sometimes we would come home from a charity shop visit with so much ‘stuff’. Well on this occasion, we were intentional about what we were looking for and determined to come out with just that/those. We did come away with a few things that we both agreed were necessary.

We hope you too have experienced progress in areas of your life this week too, and as usual, we thank Anne for allowing us to share how we sum up our week with you all.

Blessings
