Simple Ways to Save Money When you are Working From Home

Here are some simple ways to save money when you’re working from home. And who doesn’t need this, especially in these times? This is the perfect opportunity to start some frugal living.
Are you being asked to work from home? More of us than ever before are packing up our desks and rearranging the furniture at home to create a suitable working environment. How long we’ll be asked to work from home for, is still unknown, but as many businesses are considering the move to a
permanent working from home basis, it makes sense to get ourselves used to the idea.
Working from home certainly has its perks. You don’t have to deal with the stress of the morning commute, worry about being to work on time, office politics, or that person who keeps stealing your lunch from the refrigerator. However, working from home still comes with a little bit of an expense, including a potentially higher utility bill, stationery, and even phone contracts. This is why we’ve gathered some simple ways you can save money whilst you’re working from home. Read on to find out more.

Save money on your ink!

Office supplies are key to any working environment. So, keeping yourself topped up on all your office essentials so that you can work from home and make money online, will keep you feeling productive and prepared for whatever the day will throw at you. If you need to print things regularly, check out these cheap brother ink cartridges to make a saving. Anything you need to purchase to work from home could be paid back to you as part of your working from home allowance. Speak to your boss for more info.

Forget the office wardrobe

Another plus of working from home is that you’ll no longer need to follow the dress code set out in your office guidelines. So, instead of spending more money on white shirts, shoes, and blazers, save your money instead. Although, don’t forget to put on something appropriate on for those unexpected Zoom calls with your colleagues.
It is advised though, that you keep your look comfy but not too relaxed that it affects your productivity.

Save money on lunch

Lunch is one of the highlights of the working day, and now that you work from home you don’t have to spend outrageous amounts on sandwiches and meal deals.
By choosing cheap and easy to meals to cook in advance, you can prep your work lunches ahead of time and freeze them for later in the week. Buying pasta, rice, canned goods, and other items with long shelf lives will keep your freezer and your bank balance fuller for longer.

Remember to save on power

You’re working from home, which means you’re going to be using more electricity and gas to heat and power your home. However, this doesn’t have to be reflected in your utility bill. Remembering good eco-friendly practices such as turning off lights when you leave the room, not leaving items on standby, not running the tap when you’re brushing your teeth, and putting on a sweater before you turn the thermostat up will help keep your running costs low. It’s also kinder to the environment, so it’s a win-win!

And finally, switch providers

You know what we always say, never pay more for a product or service that you can pay less for. Always barter when the opportunity comes up and remember too, that it pays to complain sometimes.
It’s simple and easy and now you’re working from home it just makes sense. Head online and compare your current tariffs and monthly bills. If you find a cheaper deal for your electricity, your broadband, home insurance or phone deal then switch as soon as possible.
We hope you find these tips useful and we know that you have a few up your sleeves too. Don’t forget to share with us in the comment section below. Please also click the image below to share on Pinterest. We really do appreciate it.
