Budget Friendly Tips For Dealing With Sleep Issues

This post may contain affiliate links

Recently, some personal stressors, compounded I suppose, by the ongoing pandemic has caused my sleep pattern to be disturbed and in fact, sometimes I don’t think I get enough sleep in the night and I really don’t want this to progress. I say this because I do remember a time when my mental health was beginning to be affected by said lack of sleep.  It was not good and I would not wish it on anyone, so I want to do what I can now to deal with the problem. So what I did was to go to some trusted sites to see if some self-help along with advice from professionals would help.

I was drawn to a feature on the NHS website, which suggests that some well-known effects of lack of sleep are feeling grumpy and not being able to work at one’s best. It also says that “sleep deprivation can also have profound consequences on your physical health”.

I definitely do not want to get this to be me at all. There is enough stressing us all out already. The NHS website also said that “One in 3 of us suffers from poor sleep, with stress, computers and taking work home often blamed.”

Let’s just take a moment to really take that in. First of all the statistic itself is staggering! One in 3 are affected by sleep issues! Using computers and taking work home help to compound the problem. Well many of us are working from home now so we are not even taking the work home! It’s already at home and many of us too are working with computers! Oh my!

Of course, there are things we can do, and the sooner the better. So here are some frugal things we can do:

Sleep Aids

  1. When sleep evades us and especially over a period of time, we want to be able to take something that will help because lack of sleep can be so frustrating! What if you could have a chewy sweet that would definitely help with your sleep? Not possible? It is! One of the best ones I have found is melatonin sleep gummies. I think this is a real God-send.
SugarBear® Sleep gummies are an easy-to-use, scientifically formulated, vegan vitamin complex designed to help you sleep!
These gummies are formulated with Melatonin, the berry-flavored chewable gummies also include proprietary Rest Well Blend consisting of Lemon Balm Leaf, Passion Flower, and Valerian Root.
SugarBear Sleep are vegan, soy-free, gluten-free, cruelty-free sleep-enhancing* gummy vitamins that you can enjoy!
They are made in the U.S.A and are free of artificial sweeteners and flavors. You will taste and feel the difference!
2. Lavender has been purported to aid sleep. I know some people make mini cushions with dried lavender and place them under their pillows at bedtime. The lavender scent is also available in some pillow sprays which is meant to support sustained sleep.

Separate Work and Sleep Physically as well as Mentally

Whilst many of us are working from home, this advice should serve us all well. It is important to have a dedicated workspace, and as far as is possible, this should not be in the same space as your bedroom. There must be a shift from work to home life and then later to bed.
Granted, some people cannot help but having their workspace in their bedroom because perhaps there is nowhere else to have it. Well, I still would suggest taking a break from work occasionally and also packing away all work-related paraphernalia at the end of the workday until the following workday.
And by the way, your workday should have a definite end time that is sent. Try your best to abide by that so that you can switch off from work mode and start to get your mind and body ready for bed, rest and sleep.

Make your Sleep Space Inviting to fix sleep issues

bedroom and workspace to help sleep issues

Make your bedroom so inviting that at night it calls you. Go all out, within your means of course. If soothing music on a loop relaxes you, play some at night time. If possible avoid glaring lights like that from television or other screens. If a dim light helps, use it. No light is recommended which is why some people wear an eye mask to bed as it helps them block out any additional light source.
If all else fails, then it might be time to consult a sleep specialist. It is important to do something rather than allow lack of sleep to ruin your relationships, your mood, and your general health. After all, adequate sleep helps to boost mental wellbeing and also helps to boost our immunity so it is really important.
Good luck and remember to check out these gummies that are so easy to take. Not only are they safe and gentle but most importantly, they are also non-habit-forming. They are inexpensive and have proved to help many with their sleep issues.

oh I think my solution would be a house in the middle of nowhere with no other occupants and no pets…that’s the only way I’d get some peace!! The gummies sound good though, my husband has problems getting off to sleep so it may be something that would help him.

I hope your hubby gets some tips that will work for him. Of course, not everyone finds the same tip beneficial. I do fall asleep easily, but it’s when I wake up that the troubles and restlessness occurs. The gummies are good though so give it a thought.
