So about 2 weeks ago we had a bit of a Wardrobe Spring Clean. (Yeah I know it is Winter!) We wanted to do this because we have been having a look and there are lots of items that we no longer wear that still hog a whole lot of space in the wardrobe. They keep being overlooked and shoved about. What is the point!
(See the photo shoot we did at the end)
So we decided to get rid of items we had not worn in a long time and that we do not plan to wear for the upcoming seasons. We donated about half the contents of our wardrobes to charity. I know you might be thinking ‘what a waste’ but if you look at things the way we do, you will see that that is not so.
We are pleased to say we did not put the items in the garbage to fill landfills. We do not support that idea at all! We did not burn them, nor did we damage them in any way, so they were in good repair. We donated them to charity. That way, those who are so inclined can purchase them from the charity for a fraction of what we originally paid for them. In that way, we, as well as the purchasers would be supporting a good cause (which the charity supports.)So win-win all around.
Have you ever stopped to think, too, that there are many people who live in first world countries who do not have adequate clothing to cater for the seasons we experience?
The plan now is to not purchase so many items, there’s only so much you can wear and to be honest, we are not bonafide fashionistas. Those clothes hung up in our closet for months without being worn is like hanging money up and not using it. That’s a waste. Your money must work for you! So now we are going to upgrade our wardrobe by getting a few statement pieces that look really amazing and that last long.
We also made sure to have good, comfortable and well fitted bras on too. Read all about how the importance of a well-fitted bra here.
That is where Pink Clove UK comes in. They are an upcoming UK based fashion company. They cater for women from size 16 to size 24. We came across them just by mere coincidence on Facebook but just one of the best coincidences ever! So far we have had three items of clothing from them. They look well, they fit well and the craftsmanship on the garments is lovely. We are so pleased to have found them!
Have a look at our ‘fashion show’ as we donned the Pink Clove UK items. What do you think?
Jo having a go on her own. What do you think?
At various times throughout the year, they have a sale on. And I do mean a real sale! If you are a curvy lady who wants to wear well-fitting, fashionable clothes, then checking out Pink Clove UK should be your first choice. I like that standard postage is under £3 too!
Well, we did have a laugh too at some of the antics we got up to. We even tried on some of the older numbers we have that we are giving to charity. What do you think?
Thousands of tonnes of textile products, including clothes, bags, soft furnishings and curtains are dumped every year. They not only cause pollution but also fill up landfill sites pretty fast. The look is unsightly too.
