We will endeavour to make this one short this week. Down to earth, but still fun and in some parts, funny. We hope you enjoy our little catch up of how our week is best summed up. We are linking up with Anne and her friends in sharing how the week has been. If you have a blog, you are welcome to share too. If you go to Raisiebay.com on a Friday, you will see how other people sum up their week too. I find it so interesting how we are all so similar and go through similar experiences in life.
Here are four short paragraphs where EXCESS is featured in each one.
Body excess
So two weeks or so ago we thought we’d better start back at the gym as the last time we were there was just before Mr Covid hit. Well, the long story shortened is that we went and got a check-up and book ourselves back in.
This checkup was quite revealing and embarrassing at the same time. We had both put on 7kg since Covid hit! This excess weight is what has been causing us knee, hip and heel pain! Now that we know what is what, this is something we have resolved to deal with.
So the plan is to get up and move about more often, as well as book and attend at least 3 gym sessions per week. At our gym, booking is online and only the next two days are available at a time. So off to Peacock we went to pick up some affordable gym wear as the last ones can’t fit until we get rid of the excess we have going around with. Wish us luck.
Goal excess
We’ve been enjoying watching the Euro 2020 football matches and the excess of talent and goals from the different teams. Needless to say, our favourite match has been the England semi-final match against the Danes. What talent!
As a result of the excess overtime and penalty shootouts we have been watching, with some of the matches, I’ve been having some really late nights which then resulted in feeling tired and a little rattled in the day. Oh well, there’s only one match left to go (the final) on Sunday so we are planning to BBQ some chicken and other stuff to make it a really lovely family affair.
We hope you have been enjoying it too.
It’s raining again
We had to keep a close eye on storm Elsa this week as we have relatives both in Jamaica and in Florida. It was a little tense trying to keep up with what was happening but thankfully, aside from the excess rain and water, the wind wasn’t too bad so there wasn’t much damage.
All lives and property were spared, thank God.
Youtube love
I can’t quite remember if last week’s word of the week included the video we made to share some of our favourite things in June. Well, one of our subscribers from Jamaican share it on his community tab this week and we literally sat and watched the number of views just going up in front of our eyes!
It was such a nice feeling as we are really trying to grow the channel and we want to learn some more about videography and photography.
I like that about some people. The act of wanting others to grow just as you are growing… quite sweet if you ask me. This is the video in question if you want to check it out.
We would love you to check out our latest weekly vlog too. It gives a little peek into our lives and is generally raw and uncut.
Well, over to you, what word would you use to sum up how your week has been? Share with us in the comment section below.

Good luck on losing your excess weight ladies, and I’m glad your relatives are safe. It must be so worrying having relatives abroad when things like this happen. You must miss them all so much too with all the travel restriction. Let’s hope things improve soon. I’ll take a look at your video now. I must admit, I don’t use Youtube very often, but well done for giving it a go. You are naturals in front of a camera.

I think we have all put on weight since Covid has hit. I know I have but I am working on losing it. Good luck with going to the gym.
I have been loving the football. I am not usually a fan but I do love the bit tournaments. Come on England!
I am glad everything is good with your family in Jamaica and Florida. Storms are scary enough here but they do hit harder there. x

How lovely to see your video views going up like that. Good luck with losing the excess weight from lockdowns and getting back into your gym visits. Glad that everyone was safe with Storm Elsa. We’ve had a few late nights due to watching the football too – it is exciting to have England in the final though. #WotW

I know the feeling of the excess weight. I think I have put on the same amount. I’m trying to do something about it but it is being stubborn. I’m glad everyone was safe from Elsa. How lovely for your video to be shared like that. It is great seeing those viewing numbers creep up #WotW
