Our Word of the Week is Routine

This post may contain affiliate links

Things are definitely settling down around here. We are back to our regular routine so we have chosen this as our word of the week. We try to join in with Raisiebay each week in selecting a word that sums up how our week has been. I really enjoy participating because it also helps me to be reflective and also grateful for everything and in everything.

I like that life has its ups and downs and even though we are back to the regular routine, no two days are the same. The weekends are totally different from the weekdays and I like this routine.

Sleep routine

I am pleased to say there is no more jetlag so we go to bed when we feel the need, usually around 9 in the evenings. After watching the tv for a bit, I usually find it watching me, which means it’s time to turn it off and actually go to sleep. Thankfully, this week, there were no sleepless nights. Usually, I am up and restless if there is something on my mind which is preventing me from sleeping. This week, there was none of that. And in the morning, I awake fresh and early about 5, and the room is well lit with birds chirping outside. What bliss! I often drift in and out of sleep until almost 6 when I determine that it is time to get up and start my day.  I am so grateful for days that go like this.

Exercise routine

We still don’t feel safe going to a gym yet but thankfully, with the brighter days and better weather, we feel in the mood to go for a walk at least once per day. It is only about 30 minutes but it’s a start. And some days we manage two walks! There is a beautiful lake near enough to us and we don’t see any sign about whether or not fishing is allowed so we are thinking of throwing a line and hook in there one day and seeing what happens. What do you think? Is it even allowed?

Work routine

I must say that this area still needs a bit of work. As the YouTube channel has taken off, we seem to be spending more time on it and working on making things even better. But the blog is suffering a bit ( not massively) as a result. We really do need to strike a balance. We are still working on that. As I speak, the DA (Domain Authority) has gone back up by 1. This is pleasing and I feel good about the work I put in before going on holiday.

On YouTube, we have gained over 230 subscribers since going away on holiday! People seem to love holiday content and this makes me wish I could go on a holiday once per month! I mean, I have the time, if anyone wants to sponsor us! 😂 Anyway, our YouTube payment this month will be the biggest, we’ve received so that’s good.

That would be such an awesome work routine! Blogging and vlogging our holidays and trips away! We can always dream! For now, I hope to get some more sponsored posts on the blog, and also revisit and revise some old posts. If I could get even one hour per day of doing this, then it would pay off, I’m sure. This week, unfortunately, we didn’t manage much.

On the home front, this week involved cooking, gardening, and relaxing with mostly Youtube videos. We still do our live video every day from Sunday to Thursday at 6 pm UK time. You can check out one of them below. We do have a good time with our subscribers.

So how has your week been? Do tell us in the comments section below. Whatever you do, take care and stay safe.

I was only just saying to my husband that we need to go for more walks (well, I’ll be wheeling my way around, but you get idea) just to get out and enjoy some fresh air would be good and the kids need more exercise now they are not running around and playing in the garden anymore. So, fingers crossed for some sunny weekends and some nice walks to come. I’m glad you are sleeping better.

A routine is good especially after you have had a busy time of it.
I am finding it so much easier to get up on a morning now the mornings are brighter and now that the weather is better it is easier to get outside to walk. It sounds like you are doing well with it. The thought of fishing does sound like fun but I am sure you need a fishing licence to go fishing. lol
Congrats about your YouTube channel and your DA going up. x

It’s nice to get back into a regular routine even if it is a variable one! Glad the jet lag has gone now and sounds like your daily walks are lovely ones. Well done on your increase in YouTube subscribers. #WotW
