Reset is our Word of the Week

This post may contain affiliate links

It’s the first week of the brand new year and it’s safe to say that RESET is the word we would use, to sum up how things have been this week. Oh, by the way, I’ve heard it said that 2022 could otherwise be called 2020 too! Meaning that the way this pandemic is going, we could be reliving 2020 all over again! Well, I certainly hope not.

As much as I love being at home, I’ve had enough now. I want to be able to travel again (that’s the thing I miss the most). So we are keeping our fingers, toes and everything also crossed that all will be well soon.

So to reset for the new year, we’ve sat down together and made some plans about what we want to change about how we work, what we want to do that’s new moving forward, and also about how to be more intentional in our lives.

On the point of being intentional, we have pledged to connect more in our worship of God and also to be grateful for everything and in everything. We’ve done this before but somehow, we do slip up sometimes.

My son has returned to his university community to prepare for his upcoming exams. He got his grades for the pieces he submitted before Christmas and he did exceptionally well! I am so pleased for him and can’t wait to see him take his place in society as a man. To be honest, I’ll be happy with whatever he decides to do with his life. Well, I’ll be supportive, as long as it’s decent.

The young ladies are still with us but they will return to university soon too. They too have to keep up with their studies and plan their own futures, but they still have more time, being in the second and first years of university.

On our Youtube channel, we run a Come Dine With Me series where we collab with other YouTubers. This month we are doing the starter which we have entitled Peas, Plaits, and Parmesan. We’ve also done a 2-minute trailer to arouse interest for the premiere on the 15th of January. You can see the trailer below.

We’ve got rid of the last of the Christmas cake. It was well preserved with Red Label Wine. The chocolates have been put away to be used up in baking etc, the tree has come done and been put away. And we have been intentional with putting away the baubles and other decorations as well as the lights. Last Christmas we had such a tangled mess with finding where we had put each piece! So things are now in boxes and are also colour coordinated! This Christmas (I know it’s far away) we have decided to go with red, white and silver for the tree. So to help with that, we have put those decorations separately.

To reset, and also to live in hope, we have started to look on holidays too! Even searching around for holidays puts a smile on our faces as we look forward to things improving hopefully in the near future. We can always dream.

What has helped us too, is watching youtube video’s from people who went to destinations we would have wanted to go to. It has been strangely satisfying, no joke. Here’s one that we watched and it was so good, it felt like we were actually there in Jamaica too!

We hope that the first week of the year has got off to a good start for you too and we also want to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a happy New Year.

Good Luck with your Come Dine with Me, it all looks very nice. I don’t get to travel much so I love television programs that let me see more of the World. I love Death in Paradise ( which returns tonight) but I rarely follow the plot because I’m just soaking in all that lovely scenery. Have a lovely New Year Ladies x

I really hope that 2022 is nothing like 2020. Surely things need to get better soon with the virus. We can hope.

It is always nice to have a January reset. I’m keeping everything crossed we can go travelling again. I might have booked something on Christmas eve! We need to get out and about in the world again. I love the series you are planning on your YouTube channel. I have so much video to edit! #WotW
