Frugal Things We’ve Done Over the Easter Break

This post may contain affiliate links

These two weeks over the Easter break have been a welcome break from school for the kids. It’s been great for us as parents too. We want the kids to enjoy the break and relax a bit but we also wanted to ensure that we do not go over budget and spend any more than we have to.

Here you’ll find a roundup of some of what we have done. And all of it has cost us less than half of what we would have spent if they were in school.

You are free to click any of the links/pics below to see how we got on and managed to save so much over the two weeks. Just today I got a comment on a blog post, asking how does one go about living a frugal lifestyle. You’d be surprised to note that not everyone knows. So I am happy we took the time to share every day about some of the things we do (or don’t do) to live frugally.

It gives us more control of our money and allows us to save up for bigger spends later down the line.

While we are getting ready for Easter, we will still maintain our frugal, money-saving ways. A lot of our plans will involve working together as a family and seeing what we can do to ensure that we do not waste nor spend money unnecessarily.

This Easter break we embarked on a number of things with and without the children. Here, in the daily report, we document some of the things we get up to, and how we manage to save money while doing them.

Want to see what we do this school break by way of Easter fun? Today we all went our separate ways with the aim of having fun but at the same time looking out for some frugal buys that wouldn't break the bank.

Days out in your own city can be a fun and rewarding experience. You can plan a frugal day trip out without paying too much. See how we had a great day out with a Birmingham city tour.

This week and next week we are sharing all of what we do daily. You will see how we live a frugal lifestyle even with Easter break activities. You can do it too. Frugal ways to win! Stay within your budget. Save for the big expenses.

My big tip for you

If you were to ask us for one tip for not spending too much money when the kids are on break from school, the answer would be to PLAN AHEAD.

It really does take away from the fatigue of deciding every day over the Easter break about where to go, what to do and what meals to have. Do get the kids involved in the planning so that they will gain the necessary experience for later but also so that they will see how things unfold from the little ideas on paper or on a board, to the awesome experiences that can be had. You also don’t want them to be moaning about not having a say in what is done at the end of the day.

I’m linking up with Cass, Emma and Becky again this week. Do let us know what frugal things you’ve been up to.

There is a buzz all around as the frugal living is catching on! We have pledged to write a post every day of the Easter school break in order to show what activities we get up to, but also how we manage to do so well and have so much fun without paying out too much.
