How to make your fakeaway Frankie and Benny's meals
Whenever you and your family fancy a takeaway Frankie and Benny’s style, grab for these recipes and work your quick magic.
You might need to factor it into your meal plan for the week so that you shop for a few ingredients that you don’t already have in.
All these recipes can be made in large portions, chilled and or frozen for when you need to make a meal of it again.
The creamy American Style mac and cheese can be ready in 15 minutes if you choose not to bake it.
With more time, you can bake it for half an hour to get the Frankie and Benny’s style crispy, cheesy top. Have it your
way.
The classic Margarita pizza is so simple and with all 3 ingredients pre-prepared, dinner will be on the plate in 12 or so minutes. You can also add any other suitable toppings to suit.
Make your own whopper of a burger and do it cheaper. Have your family think you ordered it in, it’s that good. Serve warm on a toasted bun with a sharp cheddar or Monterrey Jack cheese dressed with crunchy lettuce and
tomato. Let the taste buds do their thing!
Top the meal off with a melt in your mouth taste of New York with this cheesecake that you will have to force yourself to stop eating. Thank goodness for the strawberry whose presence on the side make you feel less
guilty. Indulge with a small serving of ice cream.
Enjoy

Margarita Pizza

It is easy to just use a ready-made pizza base to which you just add your toppings.

Ingredients

1 x 10 inch thin and crispy pizza base
75 g grated mozzarella
3 tbsp passata

Method

Preheat oven to 180C.
Place the pizza base on a baking tray. Use the passata to spread over the base avoiding about 1 -2 cm around the edge of the pizza.
Sprinkle with grated cheese, again avoiding the very edge.
Place directly onto the top oven shelf (without the tray). Put a tray directly below.
Bake in the oven for 8 – 12 minutes

Classic Cheese Burger with Mayo, Garnish and Cheese

Ingredients

1 Burger patty
1 sliced brioche burger bun
1 tbsp mayonnaise
1 slice cheddar
1 slice tomato
1 little gem lettuce leaf

Method

In a hot non-stick pan or grill, place the patty and cook for about 14 to 16 minutes turning occasionally.
Check for doneness by piercing through the center with a knife. Any juice should be clear. Or use a food probe to check the internal temperature of the thickest part. It should be 75 Celsius or higher.
Once it has been turned for the last time, put the slice of cheese on top. Leave to rest on a plate.
Toast the cut side of the brioche slices in the oven for one minute then remove.

How to assemble your fakeaway Frankie and Benny’s burger.

From bottom: bun > mayo > patty with slice of cheese > lettuce > tomato > top of
brioche with mayo on cut side.
Serve

Side of Sweet Potato Fries

Ingredients

200 g frozen sweet potato fries

Method

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius
Place chips onto a Quicka Chips oven chips tray then onto a baking tray. The wire tray is essential to get the fries crispy fast without frying them. Cook in the oven for 20 minutes.
